When a customer request turns into a Station Deus module
Every day, Station Deus receives emails asking whether an existing product can be adapted to a new requirement: while this is often possible, sometimes we have had to design new products to meet the need.
The arrival of the curved module, Deus 7
The need to expand the bar counter while maintaining privacy: in June 2023, we received three emails with the same request. ‘We need a curve between two Cocktail Stations to create an L-shape’, ‘I need to close off one side of the counter, but I don't want to have two Cocktail Stations side by side without a module to connect them’, ‘My Cocktail Station is next to a wall, if I could close off the other side, it would be perfect’. The need was clear, and Station Deus began designing: first the sketch, then the 3D model with CAD drawing, prototype production, specification testing and experimentation. In the Station Deus workshop, we immediately realised that the product worked: we could proceed with production. Six months later, the curved module, Deus 7, was online and an instant success.
How did the Backbar come about?
It was a hot July day when we got a phone call: ‘I'd like to have some space behind me to put dirty glasses and all the finger food before service.’ We looked at each other a little surprised: we didn't have a Cocktail Station that could be used just as a storage space, but the request was interesting and, above all, appealing from a commercial point of view. We were about to go on holiday, but the idea intrigued us. So we set about the creative process and... the Backbar was born. Highly appreciated and in great demand, the additional module also gave rise to another idea: the Set-Up.

Once we had created the Deus 7 and then the Backbar, we realised that the modularity we had always prioritised was even more concrete and that we could create different shapes from a straight line. Until January 2023, Station Deus offered Cocktail Stations that could be placed side by side to create a bar counter of any size, but it was not possible to create circles, curves or even ovals. However, many customers had expressed the need for entire bar counters that were independent of connections, and others had expressed a desire to expand the service area with additional counters (see the uses with customer stories). With the curved module, creativity could expand, and thus the set-ups were born: modular and customisable bar counters.
